Playing in the Dough is a personalized, hands-on workshop targeted for the very beginning baker who would like to learn how to make a traditional bread loaf and two shaped breads.

Due to growing national health concerns, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Playing in the Dough workshop scheduled for April 9.

We feel it is important to take this action in order to support efforts to reduce the impact of the viral spread of COVID-19 on our community, and we thank you for understanding. Your safety in this crisis is our first priority.

Workshop Description:

Playing in the Dough is a personalized, hands-on workshop targeted for the very beginning baker who would like to learn how to make a traditional bread loaf and two shaped breads. FAPC’s Milling and Baking Specialist, Renee Nelson will give tips and tricks to participants as they make these delicious bread products made with whole wheat and refined white flour.

The event will take place in our pilot food processing plant. For your safety, pants and comfortable close toed shoes are required. No shorts, skirts or flip-flops permitted. Focus Areas

  • Learn the purpose of ingredients used in bread making.
  • Ascertain correct mixing techniques.
  • Develop shaping, proofing and scoring skills.
  • Discover proper baking procedures.
  • Understand the characteristics of what makes bread an eating experience.

Cost:

$35 per person

A $25 fee will be billed to those who fail to cancel or attend. The registration fees cover lunch, refreshments and workshop material costs.
