Ralph’s Packing Co. is not just a national award-winning company but also an international award-winning company. The company traveled to Frankfurt, Germany, May 7 to May 12, 2016, to participate in the IFFA Exhibition and brought home eight gold medals, two silver medals and a Cup of Honor.

(Stillwater, Okla. – June 1, 2016) Ralph’s Packing Co. is not just a national award-winning company but also an international award-winning company.

The company traveled to Frankfurt, Germany, May 7 to May 12, 2016, to participate in the IFFA Exhibition and brought home eight gold medals, two silver medals and a Cup of Honor.

“We were extremely honored to be a part of this competition and thrilled to win our medals, said Erica Hering. “I think the results show the variety of high quality products, which are produced in Oklahoma, and our ability to compete on the world stage.”

The awards were presented as a part of the IFFA Quality Competition for Sausage and Ham, sponsored by the German Butchers’ Association and the American Association of Meat Processors, held Jan. 11-15, 2016, at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Ralph’s Packing won gold medals for summer sausage, semi-dried sausage, frankfurters, bacon, boneless ham, smoked sausage with cheese, smoked sausage and ring bologna and silver medals for bologna and Andouille sausage.

IFFA is an international trade fair for processing, packaging and sales in the meat industry, which is held every three years. In 2013, approximately 960 exhibitors and more than 60, 000 trade visitors from 142 countries attended IFFA.

This was the first time Ralph’s Packing has entered the DFV/AAMP Quality Competition for Sausage and Ham at IFFA, but the company has won several awards at the Oklahoma-Texas Meat Processors Processed Meat and American Cured Meat championships.

Ralph Crane founded the meat manufacturing company in 1959 in Perkins, Oklahoma, with the idea of producing the highest quality meat at an affordable price. Today, Hering, Crane’s granddaughter, and her husband Jason are carrying the tradition forward, along with Hering’s parents Gary and Tess.

Oklahoma State University’s Robert M. Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center, a part of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, has been working with Ralph’s Packing since the inception of the center in 1997.

“Ralph’s is a jewel that Oklahoma should be proud to call our own,” said Erin Johnson, FAPC business and marketing client coordinator. “It is truly a wonderful honor to work with a company that is recognized on an international level and prides itself in producing quality meat products.”
